Study visit in Grand Paradis

Between the 13th and the 17th of June, Fondation Grand Paradis hosted a B2N study visit in AostaValley. Throughout the week partnership members visited enterprises that stand out for their good practices in combining development and respect for the environment in Gran ParadisoNational Park.


Cooperation for sustainable development in Perugia province

Perugia province,which hosted a B2N study visit on the 9-13 May 2011, shows good examples of public-private cooperation for achieving the goals of sustainable development. The territory of the province embraces one national park (Sibillini park) and several regional parks (such as Trasimeno lake park and Subasio park) located in beautiful natural reserves. In this region, natural environment has always been a fundamental resource for the local economy. which is based mainly on small and medium-sized firms operating in the sector of handicrafts, tourism and agriculture.


Fondation Grand Paradis presents the photography competition “Sogni e Risvegli”

Fondation Grand Paradis, partner of the B2N project, presents the photography competition “Sogni e Risvegli” (“Dreams and awakenings”). The competition is open to all mountain and photography lovers and is supported by the Consortium of Cogne Valley’s Tour Operators, the Mountain Photo Festival Association and Le Paradis du Sport sports shop.


VII International Tourism Fair "Cultural Tourism" in Veliko Tarnovo

The 7th edition of the International Tourism Fair “Cultural Tourism” was hosted by Veliko Tarnovo municipality. Running from the 13th to the 16th of April 2011 participants from B2N regions took part in this fair and promoted the idea of the B2N project at a stand and with a presentation.


International Thermal Tourism Congress

The International Thermal Tourism Congress will take place in Ourense (Spain) from 2nd until the 6th of March 2011. This event is undertaken under the project TERMARED – INTERREG IVB Sudoe programme, in which participates one of the partner institutions in the B2N project - the Development Association of the Alto Tâmega’s Region (ADRAT).

The TERMARED project is based on the creation and development of a cooperation network for exchange of thermal knowledge and innovation in the area covered by the Sudoe programme (Portugal, Spain, France and United Kingdom). The project’s main activities undertaken were: 3 itinerant seminars with the aim of training professionals on thermal waters and exchange of good practices, investigation and analyses of not explored springs (mineral medicinal springs), edition of a guide with the list all springs investigated; application of a pilot experience using a scientific tool developed to control the sanitation risk in the thermals installations and finally the celebration of an International Thermal Tourism Congress.

The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
