Polish Tourism Development Agency, Poland – Lead Partner


Polish Tourism Development Agency SA (PART) is the Lead Partner of the B2N project.PART is an institution with a status body governed by public law. PART advises Polish Voivodships (NUTS2) and local authorities in matters relating to regional development, especially by developing tourism. Its mission is to increase the competitiveness of Polish regions and to support them in their aspiration to become well developed and well managed pursuing the best EU practices. PART is also the initiator of creating a platform of cooperation in tourism between the state, private sector and regions.

PART has a visible influence on regional and local policy in Poland. In this regard, PART cooperation with Polish local and regional authorities has resulted in over one hundred public policy strategies of tourism development, tourist products development programmes and feasibility studies. Since 1999 PART has been cooperating with partners from EU countries and was successful in identifying and implementing good practices in Poland and also transferring them further on. One of PART’s points of interest is how to support the sustainable development of regions through SMEs tourism development.
 

Till June 2011 there was one more region participating in the project – Veliko Tarnovo Municipality from Bulgaria.

INTERREG IVC DG Regio
The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
